Virtual Tourney

Our virtual tourney is very simple but if you have any questions, call the director.  Remember, this is something new to encourage our  student anglers to practice in preparation for the SALTT tourneys.

Dates :
Saturdays "only" dates of Nov 13, Nov 20, Nov 27 and Dec 5

Participation :
-student anglers registered with SALTT only
-student anglers are not a team but fishing individually
-student anglers can actually submit photos for either our both species

Divisions :
-There will be two divisions : redfish and bass that all anglers of all ages from grades 1-12

Prizes in Gift Cards from your store of choice worth $500 ( we encourage you to use our sponsors )
-1st = $150       -2nd = $50       **4 names of anglers who submit at least one fish will be drawn so 4 kids will win $25

How many fish can I submit ?
-Top 5 longest fish in inches will determine the winner
-The smaller fish will be culled once you have 5 fish on the leaderboard and catch longer ones

How do the inches work ?
-Angler with the most inches in either the redfish or bass division will claim the top prize

Inch rules :

-Bass must be at least 12 inches and there is no max
-Bass winner will be the angler with the most inches of 5 bass

-Reds must be in the slot of 15 to 23 inches with ONE over the slot "BIG" fish up to 30 inches
-Reds winner will be the angler with the most inches of 5 reds ( could be 5 in the slot or 4 in slot plus a Big Fish )
-Reds over 30 inches is a Big Fish so a 30.1 inch to 50 inch plus red will count as 30 inches
-Reds are to be laid on the bumpboard straight with the tail in the middle of the bumpboard so we can determine if it is in the slot
-Reds for the virtual tourney are not to have a tail pinched.  Just let the tail lay natural. If it goes over 23, you count it as your big fish

Location :
-this is NOT a pond tourney and you must catch fish on a boat so a picture with a grass background will be DQ
-fish in the same areas as our tourneys using Winyah Bay and ICW
-the river systems of the Waccamaw, Pee Dee, Black River and Santee are good but
the Cooper River System is off limits
-the
ICW ( Intercoastal Waterway ) north to the North Carolina border plus south to the Charleston Harbor.

What do I need ?  A bumpboard, a color pen, index card(s) and a phone with camera

Preparing :
-On Friday after 6 pm or Saturday am, if you plan to fish, send a text message to 843-902-4274 for the password of the day.
-On social media of Facebook and Instagram plus on this page on our website.

What to do when you catch a fish :
-Nose of the fish must be touching the bumpboard  ( not touching = 2 inch penalty )
-Mouth of the fish must be closed  ( not closed = 2 inch penalty )
-Fish must be laid straight on the bumpboard
-Tail of the fish must be flat in the middle of the board ( we are not pinching tails ) so the longest portion of the tail will be used
-Index card placed on top of the fish with the password written on the index card ( no card = automatic DQ )

What picture(s) to send so I get credit :
-Photo 1 has the entire bumpboard with the nose of the fish touching  with mouth closed with the index card on the middle part of the top of the fish plus the tail is flat
-Photo 2 is the student angler with the fish and card
-Photo 3 is optional for social media release with just the anglers and the fish ( please hold redfish horizonal )

Timeline :
-Saturday = photos are sent from the boat after the catch from 7 am to 5 pm ( send them after you catch the fish )
                       * do not send photos after 5 pm please
-Sunday / Monday = director will make contacts for any concerns and post pics on social media
-Monday / Tuesday = leaders will be documented on this website and page under these directions

Tiebreakers :
1st is the longest fish in the division.............................if they are same length then go to 2nd
2nd is the person who submits the most legal fish which could be just 5 or it could be up to 55.......if that is a tie then go to 3rd
.3rd means they both split
-if two ( or more ) people tie for first then the 1st amount ( $150 ) and 2nd amount ( $50 ) is added then split for $100 each
-if two ( or more ) people tie for second then the $50 is split at $25 each ( if more than 2 then it will be split evenly )
