Virtual Tournaments ( Adults must be on the boat for liability )
Pre-season virtual inches tournaments allow teams to practice planning, organization and checking in whereas the check in is a method we can practice this summer that will help us during the season when we have the alternative site option.
-For this event, you must launch from one of the following public boat ramps
-Sampit = Carroll A Campbell
-Waccamaw = Bucksport, Wacca Wache and Hagley
-Pee Dee = Yauhannah, Samworth
-Black = Browns Ferry
-Santee = Pole Yard, Jamestown
-ICW South = South Island Ferry, Buck Hall
-Murrells Inlet
Everyone must be registered for the 23-24 season to participate.
-The day before the event ( if not sooner ) everyone pre-registered a time based on "safe light" to begin submitting videos
-The day before the event ( if not sooner ) everyone pre-registered will be given the password to put on the index card
6:45 a.m. the video check in can begin ( if you start later, check in later ) and 3:00 is the end of the tourney so no submission after 3:00
August 19 Code word for the card is ......... Anchor
September 16 Code word for the card is ........
Here is how it works :
1. Use your cell phone to record a video then text it to Coach at 843-902-4274
2. In the "Write Something" type in the Student Angler name (s), Boat Captain and Boat Landing Name plus fish targeting ( reds or bass)
-Every video submitted must include the following:
1. video is submitted from the boat with daylight ( no videos in the dark )
2. show the boat landing and identify verbally what landing you are using
3. show the students wearing life jackets and identify what students are targeting fishing ( reds or bass )
4. show empty livewell(s)
5.. index card with the password of the day
Virtual Tourneys will use inches to determine the winners.
Redfish Division
-slot is 15-23 inches but do not pinch the tail for this tourney so do not use the slide guide, just let the tail lay flat
-winner is the best total number of inches from 5 fish and one fish can be an over the slot fish
-the over the slot fish inches will max out at 30 inches whether the fish is 30 inches or 45 inches
Bass Division
-must be at least 12 inches
-winner is the best total number of inches from 5 fish
Submitting Fish
-text director the name of the student angler and your estimate of the fish from the bump board
-director's cell phone to submit fish is 843 -902-4274
-an index card with that day's code must be placed on our above/below the fish ( code will be sent by text on Friday )
-nose must touch bump board with the mouth closed
-fish must be laying straight ( this makes it longer anyway )
-tail is to be flat and the longer portion of the tail will be your longest length
-director will make the final decision on the length of the fish
-PLEASE submit one fish at a time
Awards in Gift Cards for Each Division ( $500 for reds and $500 for bass )
1st $ 250
2nd $ 150
3rd $ 100 no big fish for this event
