For six years, Sportsman Boats and it's partners have raised over $100,000 scholarships or investments plus $5,000 each year for the Brody Bates Foundation.

We will have a finalized date set for 2027 by January 1st of 2027 due to the potential closing of Buck Hall

For your planning
-we will ask all registered members early January who is fishing
-we will post those names on this page and there will be a limited number of teams depending on the boat landing
-each boat is a team and will be scored per divisions : elementary (1-4), middle (5-8), and high (9-12)
-the division is determined by the highest grade of the two anglers so 5th grade with 9th grade = high division
-launch time and weigh in times will be announced later based on participation

FREE with membership to SALTT
-Student Angler Form completed ( see tab to left )
-Adult Form completed ( see tab to left )

Starts with a Virtual Launch
-pre approved public boat landing in the following counties: Georgetown, Charleston, Berkeley
-quick video showing students with lifejackets on, empty live well and boat landing
-launch only after the director approves your video

Weigh in
-scales are open at 11am and we should be done by 2 or 3pm with weigh ins.

IF Buck Hall is closed then our first option could be:
   -Garris Landing
5801 N US-17Awendaw, SC 29429
-trailered boats cannot park upon arrival as these boats will have a drive thru weigh in managed by the SALTT staff
-trailered boats when finished with the weigh in will go to the awards location
-awards at Sewee Visitor and Environmental Educational Center
5821 N Highway 17Awendaw, SC 29429-5908
-Encourage all participants to honor the memory of Brody Bates by attendance
     -Food and Prizes provided

IF you already fish SALTT, read below for the changes to a normal tourney
-an adult cannot touch a rod and reel since there is a lot of scholarship money on the line
-no gift cards but a check from SALTT mailed after the event
-checks will be made out to Future Scholar or an investor to avoid 1099

Basics guidelines but please read the "detailed information
-as many as 2 student anglers and 2 adults can be on the boat
-each boat represents a team and you can have up to 2 student anglers who will split the winnings
-the number of fishing lines out = the number of student anglers on the boat ( 2 anglers = 2 lines )
-live or cut bait is allowed as well as artificial baits
